Directly after the denouement of the Second World War people started to deem that the world’s basic principles are simple and consistent . Both politics and social relations were counting on the concepts of advancement , positive changes , belief in science , enlightenment , progress , and the ability to substantiate any happening from a rational point of view . However , beginning from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to degrade and currently , 40 years later , we find ourselves in a new kind of actuality .
We without any problems notice those changes which are given us by new technology, but we rarely are aware of the fact that there are specific concepts standing behind those technological solutions. The nature of the future change was at first noticed by those people, who as a rule lived ahead of their time – philosophers and authors. Among the many authors whose works have served for entertainment , there have been a few who have given the humankind a new vision . They have better than others other people molded and worded authentic thoughts and have finally done a brand new intellectual and emotional substantiation of the future. They have found problems in the mundane of our lives and have opened a number of problems, which were existing without being noticed . They have assisted us to think of the new challenges , and gave us new hope .
These were the authors who have shaped the minds of the entire generation, which has taken the blow of dramatic change; change, which was perceived as chaos at the beginning of the 21 first century. They have made us focus our attention to the most problematic questions of the previous era ; those questions , which the humankind , having survived through the global wars and wild number of deaths, was reluctant to face . Lastly they were raising the most critical issue “What will happen in the future”?

They have all significantly impacted literature of their period, have offered trends and problems which were normal to their people and the period of time they existed in, and have made the audience think about the actual system of values, having them realize that it is far away from being ideal. In this aspect one of the most exciting success works is that of a brilliant writer John Cheever.
The achievement of Joan Rowling can be considered phenomenal as she has become the first writer in the world to make $1 billion by authoring fairytales. She is currently spending a considerable part of her profit on charity, fighting poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first decided to publish her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a kind piece of advice — to look for a permanent job. He was incredulous of the idea that the young author would be able to make a living off of writing. This work is not able to name and more or less exactly list all authors who have given their gift to the nowadays literature. They have been working and presenting ideas exactly into the thoughts of the millions, and therefore were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these writers were not creating for enjoyment only, but they were also playing a significant part in shaping the culture and the views of a civilization of the 20th century.
